Universities increasingly rely on seamless integrations between their Learning Management System (LMS) and external academic platforms. Integrevise integrates with Blackboard Learn using LTI 1.3 / LTI Advantage, enabling secure launch of viva sessions, automated user provisioning, and seamless academic workflows directly inside Blackboard courses.
By configuring the Integrevise LTI tool, universities can allow tutors and students to access viva assessments directly within Blackboard while maintaining institutional security, authentication, and data governance policies. Once connected, Integrevise securely receives course, user, and context information from Blackboard during launch, allowing the platform to deliver viva sessions and related analytics within the institution’s learning environment.
This guide explains how Blackboard administrators can configure Integrevise as an LTI 1.3 tool.
Integrevise LTI Integration Guide (Blackboard Learn)
Step 1: Log in to Blackboard as an Administrator
Log in to your Blackboard Learn instance using an administrator account.
From the left navigation menu, select Admin to open the Administrator Panel.

Step 2: Open the Administrator Tools Page
After selecting Admin, the Administrator Tools page will appear. This page contains all system configuration sections including user management, courses, security settings, and integrations.
Locate the Integrations section on this page.
Step 3: Navigate to LTI Tool Providers
Within the Integrations section, click LTI Tool Providers.
This page lists all LTI tools currently registered in your Blackboard environment.

Step 4: Register the Integrevise LTI Tool
At the top of the LTI Tool Providers page, select Register LTI 1.3 / Advantage Tool.
Blackboard will prompt you to enter a Client ID.
Enter the Client ID provided by the Integrevise team and click Submit. Blackboard will automatically retrieve the Integrevise tool configuration.

Step 5: Configure Tool Settings
Once the tool configuration loads, review and configure the settings.
Set Tool Status to Approved so the integration becomes active.
Enable the following User Fields to Send so Integrevise can correctly identify users during launch:
- Role in Course
- Name
- Email Address
These fields allow Integrevise to identify tutors and students and associate them with the correct course context.
Step 6: Configure Optional Custom Parameters
Blackboard allows administrators to define custom parameters that will be sent to Integrevise during launch.
These parameters help Integrevise map Blackboard users and courses correctly.
Example parameters:
domain=integreviseblack
user_id=$user.id
course_id=$course.id
context_id=$context.id
Please note that Integrevise will send you the domain to use
Each parameter should be entered on its own line using the format:
name=value

Step 7: Enable Required Service Access
Depending on institutional requirements, enable the following service access options:
Allow Membership Service Access — Yes
This allows Integrevise to retrieve course membership information and correctly associate tutors and students with their courses.
Grade service access may also be enabled if your institution plans to return grades to Blackboard.
Step 8: Save the Configuration
After reviewing all settings, click Submit to complete the setup.
The Integrevise tool will now appear in the LTI Tool Providers list and will be available for use within Blackboard courses.
Result
Once configured, Blackboard will securely launch Integrevise using the LTI 1.3 authentication flow. Tutors and students will be able to access viva sessions directly from their courses without needing separate login credentials.
This integration provides a seamless academic experience while maintaining the security and governance standards required by universities.
